Golf: The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is a world renowned golf complex offering 54 holes of championship golf at some facilities, 36 holes at others. Each facility has a unique, very demanding par three layout as well as the championship courses. All in all, The Trail is a golf experience simply not to be missed. Greens fees are quite reasonable and are even available in a format that allows you to play each and every hole on The Trail. These golf facilities are located all over the state of Alabama but our rental property is located within a hundred miles of eight and five of these are within fifty miles. As a former two handicap golfer I enjoyed playing golf all over the world. I saw nothing that equals The Trail. Do not miss any opportunity to play one or all of these magnificent courses.

Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, Alabama is about 25-30 minutes from Magnolia Manor. Ave Maria Grotto, known throughout the world as “Jerusalem in Miniature,”  is a beautifully landscaped, four-acre park designed to provide a natural setting for the 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous historic buildings and shrines of the world. The masterpieces of stone and concrete are the lifetime work of Brother Joseph Zoettl, a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard Abbey. Begun as a hobby, with various materials he could find, and infinite patience and a remarkable sense of symmetry and proportion, Brother Joseph re-created some of the greatest edifices of all time.

Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament –

When pilgrims visit the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, many ask: “How did it all begin?”  The answer to this question comes as a surprise to many … the Lord used a business trip to bring about this marvel of His Divine Providence.

Mother Angelica stood praying at the side of the statue when suddenly the miraculous image came alive and turned towards her.  Then the Child Jesus spoke with the voice of a young boy:  “Build Me a Temple and I will help those who help you.”  Thus began a great adventure that would eventually result in the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, a Temple dedicated to the Divine Child Jesus, a place of refuge for all.

After coming home from the trip, Mother Angelica shared this story with the nuns.  At once, they began to look for land.  After several months of searching, they came to Hanceville, Alabama.  The property is an isolated piece of farmland almost completely surrounded by a river.  It had previously been used to farm soybeans.  From the very first moment that she set foot on the land, Mother Angelica says that she “felt the Presence of God very strongly.”
